High strength and elastic recovery ability
Polyester embossed fabric has high strength and excellent elastic recovery ability, which makes it very durable and wrinkle resistant. Its short fiber strength is 2.6-5.7 cN/dtex, and its high-strength fiber strength is 5.6-8.0 cN/dtex. Its elasticity is close to wool and it can quickly recover its original shape without leaving wrinkles.
Excellent heat and light resistance
Polyester embossed fabric has the best heat resistance and strong plasticity among synthetic fabrics, making it suitable for making clothing that requires maintaining pleats. Its light resistance is also good, usually more sun resistant than natural fiber fabrics, especially behind glass, its sun resistance is almost on par with acrylic fiber.
Good wear resistance and chemical resistance
The wear resistance of polyester embossed fabric is second only to nylon and better than other natural and synthetic fibers. Meanwhile, polyester textiles have little damage to acid and alkali, and bleaching agents and oxidants have little effect on them. They are also not afraid of mold and insect infestation.
Poor moisture absorption and easy pilling
Polyester embossed fabric has poor moisture absorption, causing a stuffy feeling when worn, and is prone to static electricity and dust contamination. In addition, polyester fabric may experience pilling after a period of use.
Other characteristics
Polyester embossed fabric is easy to dry after washing, with almost no decrease in wet strength, low deformation rate, and good washability. Its density is between 1.38-1.40g/cm ³, similar to wool.
